Passport and wrapping

The wrapper around a creative, and what it reports.

Creative

A creative is the video, image or HTML you want to show. In the API, creatives you register with Vojo are called advertisements.

Vojo Passport

A Vojo Passport is a wrapper around a creative. You send Vojo the creative's URL, and you get back a Passport to schedule in the creative's place.

When the Passport is shown, it reports what happened: that the content started, that its fingerprint sequence finished, and that the content finished. It starts itself as soon as it's displayed and waits for no signal from whatever is playing it, so its reports don't depend on your player. You can't turn this off.

A Passport's reports are one source of evidence about a play. They become much stronger when a Harvester independently reads the same fingerprint off the screen.

Fingerprint

A fingerprint is a short sequence of colours shown with the creative, which identifies it. Fingerprints belong to an organisation, not to a single screen. A Harvester reads them from the glass, and this is how a Harvester reading is matched to a play.

Play the Passport unmodified

Don't edit, re-encode, crop or overlay a Passport, and give it the creative's full slot. Changing it can stop a Harvester from reading the fingerprint.

Make one wrapper per creative per screen. To wrap one, read Wrap a creative.
